We take the protection of your privacy very seriously. This statement outlines the policies we
have put in place to ensure your privacy.
At Explorer we collect information in a number of different ways depending on the situation
and application. Information is gathered on users of the Explorer system from the use of our
web-sites and connectivity services. We also store any information submitted via paper or
digital application forms. Data is also forwarded to us through our resellers and affiliates
and other third parties as required legally and by the auDA policies (ie, searching the ASIC
databases to confirm your company status).
In some cases Explorer may combine information with that available from third parties or
public sources. Due to the nature of the Registrar business model it is not possible to
purchase or use our services anonymously. Correct and accurate contact details as well as
details of the legal entity such as ABN and ACN are required in many cases.
Private information collected by Explorer may be used in the following ways: To identify you
for permission to access our services, check for credit worthiness or fraud and to provide
you with invoices. We will also use this information to contact you as necessary, provide
new product, fault and outage notifications as well as assisting us to better manage and
develop our systems and product rages. Finally, we may use this information to better
understand the needs of our customers and develop our business plan accordingly.
Our web servers use cookies in order to identify you, so that we can customise the web site
and set your preferences. Information from these cookies is not shared with other web
sites.
At no time will Explorer Domains sell information to third parties but may share it with
related companies, as defined by the National Privacy Act. We may share statistical
information with third parties, without disclosing individual details, unless those details
are necessary for fulfilling a service order you have requested. Explorer may disclose
details to, and collect details from, credit or fraud agencies, or debt recovery agencies
for verification purposes, or for debt reporting or collection purposes.
We may also disclose details about you to government and regulatory authorities and other
organisations as required by law, including our accountants, auditors and lawyers.
When a domain name is registered, certain information is collected for use on the WHOIS service. The WHOIS service allows internet users to query a domain name to find out the identity and contact details of the registrant. The public WHOIS service is a standard feature of domain name systems around the world. Please see auDA's WHOIS policy at http://www.auda.org.au/whois-policy which sets out auDA's guidelines on the collection, disclosure and use of WHOIS data.
Explorer will take all reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss,
and from unauthorised access.
Our staff are instructed not to disclose private information to anyone. We take security
very seriously and have state of the art systems to ensure security of all information.
We attempt to keep all information up to date but we rely on you to inform us of any
changes of your details.
